The Well-Tempered Clavier is two sets of preludes and fugues for keyboard. Each set consists of twenty four preludes and fugues in all of the major and minor keys in ascending order. They were published in two separate "books," Book I, which was composed in , and Book II, composed in The first book of Bach's Das Wohltemperierte Klavier (The Well-Tempered Clavier) was complete by Bach gave the present title to the work, which was composed "for the use and practice of musical youth eager to learn and for the amusement of those already skilled in this study." Bach composed a paired Prelude and Fugue in each of the 24 keys to demonstrate the viability of the new "equal.

Toward the beginning, LaFarge, the author of a book about the High Line as well as an amateur pianist, confesses that the motivation for “Chasing Chopin” was a performance of the “Funeral. For inspiration for this prelude, Bach turns to the lamento of old Italian opera, but after its initial phrases he imbues it with shorter, crisper note values than would be found in the works of Monteverdi and is clearly a keyboard study, not a transcribed vocal piece. Bach maintains the old Italian theme by making the fugue a lively canzonetta, but bringing to it a more modern.

There is a good book, called choral composition, which would probably answer all your questions about writing for choir. After that, I recommend getting a good orchestration book, like the Samuel Adler book. This is a list of compositions by Frédéric Chopin by is a separate list by opus number.. Most of Frédéric Chopin's compositions were for solo also composed piano concertos (his concertos No. 1 and No. 2 are two of the romantic piano concerto repertoire's most often-performed pieces) as well as some other music for ensembles.. This listing uses the traditional opus.
